We are in the planning stages for our airshow. Please check back soon for updates.
Welcome to the Northern Maine International Airshow at Presque Isle, Maine.
This airshow celebrates the rich history of military aviation in Northern Maine. The Presque Isle Army Air Field (1940-1961) was the last stop before most aircraft departed for Europe in WWII. The P-38 Lightning “Glacier Girl” flew out of PQI over 60 years ago on her ill fated flight to England for Operation Bolero. The P-38 came back to Presque Isle in June 2007 to re-create the original mission now called Operation Bolero II. Loring AFB was also located nearby and served our community with many fine air shows over the years. Since the base closure in 1994, it has been more than two decades since an airshow in the county. We knew it was finally time to plan an airshow in Northern Maine for all to enjoy from New Brunswick to New Hampshire and beyond. |
